A SaaS platform to serve business needs for auto, aircraft and marine detailers.

As the founding engineer for the platform, I created the initial designs, prototypes, implementations and launched the platform. The business was immediately succssful, and after many years was acquired.

Some fun challenges included:

• Adapting a custom platform I built for a single company as a multi-tenant SaaS solution.
• Designing a sharded, multi-tenant architecture from the ground up.
• Scaling sales, marketing and customer service teams alongside core product engineering.
• Integrating reactive UI components seamlessly into a web monolith application.
• Navigating the changing landscape of SMS delivery before and after 10DLC carrier regulation.

As a volunteer for a non profit organization, I designed and implemented a convention registration system with full CRM capabilities, including attendee management, payments, ticketing, and custom RFID access control embedded hardware.

Some fun challenges included:

• Analyzing and optimizing the entire convention registration process for speed. This included streamlining UI workflows, customer interaction design and capacity planning. My system took average registration interaction time from over 5 minutes per person to under 30 seconds per person on average.
• Creating and deploying a complete software package within a deadline of only a few months that could replace their existing failing system.
• Scaling their system and processes from a few thousand to over 15,000 attendees serviced during an event.
• Designing the hardware and integrated software for affordable RFID access control devices, running with bespoke RFID hardware on a Raspberry PI platform with custom drivers and software.
• Implementing capacity planning, with knowledge of exact event attendance for key event spaces in real time.
